Certainly, this was because some robbers stole her phone as well as her handbag that contained personal stuff. As a result, it was suspected that her pictures started circulating online after the incident

Rather, the police managed to at least detain 2 men who were suspected of circulating the photos on social media. The 2 men were identified as Herbert Arinaitwe alias John Paul, 27, a businessman in Rubaga and Farid Mukiibi, 34. The two criminals were sentenced by Buganda Road Chief Magistrate’s Court attending the crime. However, the suspects denied the charges that were stated by Chief Magistrate Ms. Miriam Okello of robbery and cybercrime.
Meanwhile, the prosecution alleges that both the suspects robbed Martha Kay of two mobile phones on April 10th, 2019. These included a Samsung Galaxy S8 gold in color and an iPhone X black in color. Furthermore, they are accused of looting Martha’s handbag that contained her Stanbic bank ATM card, driving permit, and UGX 400,000.
Even more, the suspects are said to have used a chemical called scopolamine on Martha Kay. According to medical specialists, the substance is meant to make someone lose his or her consciousness within a short time. Rather, the criminals demanded Ush10million from Martha Kay to withhold her photos not to be published.
Other charges facing the duo include harassment of Socialite Martha Kay. It’s however not the first time such happenings affect ladies in Uganda. Before Martha Kay, Shawula Kasule, the daughter of Muslim cleric photos and videos were shared on social media.
