For those who are curious about the summit, the theme of the conference is Moral and Innovative Leadership: New Models for Sustainable Peace and Development.

As per the Minister responsible for Public services Mr. Muruli Mikasa, this is to briefly say;
The conference will build consensus on the response to pressing regional and international challenges guided by a shared vision and principles to improve security.
The people who will attend have a major role to play in enhancing security in the country and internationally. We expect to make practical resolutions and make sure they are put in place. “

The Global Peace Foundation country director Milton Kampala had this to say;
Our president is one of the few who think global. When a Mzungu [white man] comes here, they don’t want to leave. He has contributed to regional peace like in Somalia. For that matter and more, Museveni will be awarded the Global Leadership Peace Award.
