Space Lounge Nairobi Shut Down as All Employees get Sacked

Space lounge Nairobi City shut down as all its employees get sacked. This follows days after another privately owned media company fires over 10 of its top staff.

According to reports, Space Lounge restaurant shut down after the Nairobi County Government and NEMA revoked its operating permit and license. In one of the notices published on 31st October 2019, the club was shut because of a court order. However, the management assured all employees that their salaries shall be fully paid. Below is a part of the memo published by Space Lounge Restaurant.

“Due to the court order, we wish to inform you that Space Lounge & Grill Limited will be officially closed from November 1, 2019. Your salaries from the company will be paid by the first week of November,” the memo read.

“We have spent a lot of time together and made so many memories but now it is time to say goodbye to each other which is definitely not easy as goodbyes are the hardest.

You will all be missed by the heads of the company and well as it is said that the goodbyes are the hardest. Best of luck to you for your future endeavors and may you all accomplish big things in life with your hard work,” the memo added.

On Monday, September 28, Justice Loise Komingai directed NEMA and City Hall to revoke operating licenses issued the following clubs. Space Lounge, Kiza Restaurants, Explorers Taver, and B Concept.
