Bobi Wine Moves To Court To Sue The Government

Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine has moved to court to sue the Ugandan government. This is because the planned music concert by singer Bobi Wine was canceled by the state. Above all, Bobi Wine is seeking compensation for at least 300 million shillings. Even more, Bobi Wine is accusing the government of restricting his freedom through police actions.

The music show was organized to take place in Kampala, Mukono, Kasese, Kiryandongo and Kaulitz mid 2017 after he was elected as a member of parliament. The music shows by Bobi Wine were meant to raise the bar for a presidential candidate from vying at a certain age.

In a written letter by Mwesigwa, the shows by MP Robert Kyagulanyi were cancelled since they could cause incitement and hence violence. Hence, the reason why Bobi Wine moved to court to sue the government ended up unfruitful.

Kampala High Court has asked for written documents from Bobi Wine for his case pursuit. Bobi Wine was accused for failure to identify himself publicly as a musician as well as a Member of Parliament.

“We have noticed that Bobi Wine has been turning into Hon. Kyagulanyi to make political statements at music shows, that is not what we agreed upon”, said Mwesigwa.
