Musician Rickman Manrick unhappy with Uganda DJs Playing Nigeria Music. If there’s one thing that most of the top Musicians in East Africa admire is airplay of their music. First, Uganda is a hub of the most aspiring and successful musicians in Africa for over 10 years now. Moreover, Ugandan musicians have for quite a long time been very outgoing especially when it comes to subjects affecting the society. However, upcoming Musician Rickman Manrick expressed his unhappy sentiments about Uganda DJS continuously playing Nigeria music.
Certainly, it’s not the first remark by Ugandan or Kenyan musicians who are longing to hear their music on radio or TV stations. The Ebango song artist Rickman condemned Uganda DJs and media houses of prejudicing the local songs. Below is a statement by the rising Uganda musician Rickman from his tweeter handle on how he bashes Ugandan DJs.
“I am listening to a Ugandan Radio but you may think it’s the Wizkid’s birthday and the Nigerian Independence day. About 7 Wizkid’s singles and features and then 10 second snippet of Ykee Benda, Mr. Incredible and then more 30 minutes of Afro beat. a 3 second intro of Fik fameika. I couldn’t stand the disrespect, I just switched to another Station.”
