First of all, every year on March 8th is globally celebrated as International Women’s day. Above all, this is usually to honor women’s accomplishments probably to raise their voices and awareness in society. For this reason, we are going to list the top 10 most powerful women in Africa in 2021.

  1. Rapelang Rabana (South Africa) is CEO of ReKindle Learning and Yeigo Communications. Rapelang Rabana is the most influential woman in Africa in 2021. Furthermore, ReKindle Learning is an innovative technology-driven education company that uses and integrates the power of mobile and internet technology. This is to improve and complement learning for students and corporate employees. 
  2. Bilikiss Adebiyi-Abiola (Nigeria) is the CEO and Co-Founder of Wecyclers. She is the second most influential woman in Africa in 2021. Wecyclers is a for-profit social enterprise working to help communities reclaim their neighborhoods from unmanaged waste.
  3. Also, Spectra Speaks (Nigeria) is a queer afrofeminist writer as well as an activist. Spectra is also the founding director of Queer Women of Color and Friends, a grassroots organization and media collective. Even more, Spectra Speaks is dedicated to highlighting LGBTQ women of color, immigrant as well as diaspora voices.

  6. Hussainatu Blake (Cameroon/Atlanta) is the co-founder of Focal Point Global (FPG). This is a non-profit organization whose mission is to empower underserved youths in Namibia and Cameroon using education and technology to address social issues. Above all, Hussainatu Blake was also recognized as a White House Champion of Change. 
  7. Juliana Rotich (Kenya) is co-founder and executive director of Ushahidi – a web-based reporting system. Rather, Ushahidi utilizes crowdsourced data, mobile phone, and web reporting to formulate visual map information of a crisis on a real-time basis. Also, Rotich is an African Futurist and a TED Senior Fellow. Her organization, Ushahidi documented the Kenyan presidential election crisis of 2007-2008.
  8. Nkemdilim Begho (Nigeria) is the managing director of Future Software Resources. Above all, Begho successfully re-branded the company, thus changing its focus to web-based educational, enterprise, and business solutions.
  9. Lilian O. Ajayi (Global) Ambassador Lilian O. Ajayi is the Founder and CEO of Global Connections for Women foundation (GC4W). GC4W foundation was created in direct response to the United Nations’ Millennium Development Goal (MDGs). Most noteworthy, it was established to support women and youth in underserved communities across the globe. As a result, Lilian sits on the board of Harvard Crimson Impact, NAAEP, HOPE Program, and International Women in Business.

These include matters on Population, Health, and the Environment.   12. Rainatou Sow (Guinea/United Kingdom) is the founder of Make Every Woman Count. This is an organization led by a team of volunteers in Africa, America, and Europe. As a result, their passion and interest are to promote women’s rights as well as the empowerment of women and girls. And finally,
  13. Semhar Araia (State of Eritrea/Washington D.C). Semhar Araia is the founder and executive director of the Diaspora African Women’s Network (DAWN). DAWN is an organization whose mission is to develop and support the next generation of African diaspora women focused on African affairs. Above all, Semhar a lawyer by training specializes in US-Africa affairs, diaspora engagement, humanitarian affairs, conflict resolution & international development. She ranks in the 13th position in the list of the top 10 most powerful women in Africa in 2021.
