The African Cup of Nations, AFCON, is Africa’s biggest football tournament. The football competition is hosted in Egypt country. Consequently, the tournament kicked off on June 21st 2019 after a spectacular opening ceremony. As of now the afcon round of 16 teams have been identified as some were eliminated.
First of all, various teams in the respective groups managed to automatically qualify to the round of 16. However, other teams chances to proceed was determined by the rank of the third place. For example; Ghana, Cameroon and Benin progressed from Group F at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations on Tuesday night.
Certainly, Ghana emerged number 1 in Group F after defeating Guinea-Bissau 2-0. Similarly, Cameroon emerged number 2 after a goalless draw against Benin. Likewise, Benin qualified for the round of 16 as one of the third-best teams. This is because they had three points in the group stage and conceded the fewest goals.
